Dave and Barb Anderson are coming to Divine Shepherd on August 29th. They are traveling less, in their 34th year of full-time music ministry, in order to put more time into Shepherd's Canyon Retreat, a counseling ministry for burned-out pastors and other professional church workers and their spouses. These 8-day retreats, currently being held in beautiful settings in Wisconsin and Arizona, are staffed by two Christian counselors (male/female) and a chaplain. You will be inspired by the news Dave will share from this new ministry. Please visit www.ShepherdsCanyonRetreat.org to learn more.

Shepherd's Care Preschool: September 8th begins a new school year at Shepherd’s Care Preschool. Praise the Lord that our three-year-old class is at capacity. Please pray for a few more four-year-olds for that class. Anyone interested in volunteering as a classroom aide, snack aide, or recess aide can contact me. We have classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Our greatest need for volunteers is on Fridays, and we would like to set up a rotating schedule. Also, please save your empty paper towel and toilet paper tubes, facial tissue boxes and 5-quart ice cream pails for our craft projects. If you have any questions about craft supplies, contact Joi Alex. Please continue to keep the preschool students, their families, teachers and volunteers in your prayers as we learn and grow.

DSLC Mission Team has
adopted a mission project for the coming year. We would like DSLC
members to help support Bethany Lutheran Church in their outreach to
their community. They are starting a "Soup Kitchen" to be held every
Wednesday from 11:30 AM until 1:30 PM. The support that is needed
includes donations of time {help set up, or serving, or clean up} or
money to purchase food, or maybe even to help cook. You could do this
once a month, once a quarter or once a year. This is our opportunity to
be part of a mission outreach in our hometown. Contact Marilyn Riese or
Pastor Dan for more detailed information. May you be blessed by your
helpfulness.
Reminder: Donations of clothing
and household goods are accepted in the barrel marked “Place of Refuge”
and non-perishable food pantry items are for the barrel marked "Good
Samaritan Center." Both barrels are in the narthex under the table.
